Your new company is a well-established higher education organisation based in Leeds seeking a skilled Facilities Maintenance Operative to join its Estates and Facilities team. Operating across multiple city-centre sites, the organisation is committed to providing a safe, secure and welcoming environment for students, staff and visitors.
As a Facilities Maintenance Operative, you will play a key role in ensuring the effective maintenance, safety and operational readiness of a diverse property portfolio. Working as part of an experienced facilities team, you will undertake a broad range of planned and reactive maintenance duties across buildings and grounds. Responsibilities will include:
- Carrying out general building repairs
- Carrying out plant room and building management system checks
- Supporting statutory compliance activities
- Assisting with minor refurbishment and renovation projects
- Managing contractors on site
- Maintaining accurate maintenance records
- Supporting room and event setups
- Contributing to the overall security and safety of the campus environment
What you'll need to succeed:
- Previous experience in a building maintenance, facilities, estates or property maintenance role
- Good practical skills across a range of maintenance disciplines, including basic electrical, plumbing, decorating and general building repairs
