Your new role: Hays Construction & Property is working in partnership with a leading property maintenance business in the Sheffield area who are looking for a facilities & Maintenance Operative on a permanent basis.

This is a fantastic opportunity to join a growing property management business, supporting a portfolio of residential and mixed-use properties across Sheffield and the surrounding areas.

As a hands-on Maintenance Operative, you will be responsible for delivering both planned and reactive maintenance works, carrying out void property refurbishments, communal area improvements, and supporting wider property enhancement projects.

The role offers a varied workload and would suit an experienced multi-skilled operative who takes pride in delivering high-quality workmanship and excellent customer service.

Your duties will include: General property repairs, painting and decorating, basic plumbing, joinery works, communal area maintenance, void property preparation, and supporting property compliance and safety programmes.

What you'll need to succeed

Previous experience within property maintenance, facilities management, building maintenance, or a similar role.

Strong practical skills across painting and decorating, joinery, and general building repairs.

Basic plumbing knowledge and the ability to diagnose and resolve maintenance issues.

Experience working within residential properties would be highly advantageous.

Ability to work independently and manage workloads effectively.

Excellent customer service and communication skills.

Full UK driving licence.

A proactive, professional, and solutions-focused approach to maintenance.
