We are currently recruiting for an experienced Handyman to join a busy social housing maintenance team carrying out repairs and upkeep across residential properties. This is a fantastic opportunity to secure ongoing work with a well-established contractor delivering maintenance services to housing association and local authority properties.
The Role
As a Handyman, you will be responsible for completing a wide range of general maintenance and repair tasks within occupied and void properties. You will ensure all work is completed safely, efficiently, and to a high standard while providing excellent customer service to residents.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out general building repairs and maintenance
- Basic carpentry repairs including doors, locks, skirting and ironmongery
- Minor plumbing repairs such as changing taps and fixing leaks
- Patch plastering and making good
- Painting and decorating touch-ups
- Fitting and replacing fixtures and fittings
- Completing reactive maintenance and planned works
Requirements
- Previous experience as a Handyman, Maintenance Operative, Caretaker or Multi Skilled Operative
- Experience working within social housing, housing maintenance, facilities management or property services
- Good all-round maintenance knowledge
- Ability to undertake a variety of basic trade tasks
- Own tools preferred
- Strong customer service skills
