An established and forward-thinking Local Authority in Essex is seeking an experienced INTERIM Estates Surveyor to join their Property Services team.

The council manages a diverse property portfolio including commercial, operational and community assets and is committed to delivering value for residents, supporting economic growth and driving effective asset management across the borough.

As Estates Surveyor, you will play a key role in the management of the council's commercial property portfolio.

Your responsibilities will include landlord and tenant matters, lease renewals, rent reviews, valuations, acquisitions and disposals, and providing professional property advice to internal stakeholders.

You will help maximise income opportunities, support regeneration initiatives and ensure the portfolio is managed effectively in line with the council's strategic objectives.

To be successful in this role, you will have experience in estate management, ideally within a local authority, public sector or commercial property environment.

You will possess strong knowledge of landlord and tenant legislation, property valuation principles and asset management practices.

MRICS qualification is desirable, although candidates working towards a chartership with relevant experience will also be considered.

Excellent communication, negotiation and stakeholder management skills are essential.
