Your new role The Grounds Maintenance Worker will be responsible for ensuring the cleanliness, upkeep, and overall appearance of outdoor areas, including gardens, lawns, sports fields, and other green spaces. This role requires a combination of physical labour, landscaping skills, and attention to detail to ensure that all grounds are well-maintained and meet safety standards. Key Responsibilities: Mow lawns, trim bushes, and maintain plant beds to ensure a neat and attractive appearance. Plant, water, and maintain flower beds, trees, shrubs, and other plants. Perform basic landscaping tasks, including mulching, weeding, and pruning. Sweep, blow, and remove debris from walkways, car parks, and other public spaces. Maintain and repair irrigation systems to ensure efficient water usage. Assist with pest control, including the use of appropriate methods and products. Ensure proper disposal of yard waste and debris in compliance with local regulations. Operate and maintain landscaping equipment, including lawnmowers, trimmers, leaf blowers, and other machinery. Inspect and repair outdoor fixtures such as benches, fences, and gates. Assist with seasonal landscaping tasks (e.g., leaf removal, snow removal). Follow safety guidelines and regulations to ensure a safe working environment. Perform other duties as assigned by management.What you\’ll need to succeed The ideal candidate will have : Previous experience in grounds maintenance or landscaping preferred. Ability to operate and maintain landscaping tools and machinery. Knowledge of plants, trees, and other landscaping elements is a plus. Physical stamina to perform manual labour in all weather conditions. Strong attention to detail and a desire for quality work.
