Your new role:Hays are seeking a proactive and skilled handy person to join a Facilities Management team within a large office. This is a hands-on, multi-trade role ideal for someone with a strong background in building maintenance and a customer-focused attitude. You will be responsible for ensuring the buildings, car parks and grounds are safe, well-maintained, and welcoming to all users.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct regular inspections of buildings and grounds, reporting any safety, security, or maintenance concerns.
Perform minor repairs and installations to furniture, fixtures, fittings, and equipment.
Maintain the external appearance of buildings, including car parks and landscaped areas.
Carry out basic checks and operation of mechanical and electrical systems (e.g., HVAC, lighting).
Respond promptly and professionally to maintenance requests and service queries.
Monitor and liaise with contractors working on behalf of the Facilities Department.
Ensure high standards of cleanliness and housekeeping are maintained.
Uphold all Health & Safety procedures and report any issues promptly.
Act as a designated First Aider and Fire Marshal (training provided)
Requirements:
Proven experience in a similar multi-trade facilities or maintenance role.
Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Basic understanding of mechanical and electrical systems.
A positive, customer-focused attitude.
Willingness to travel between sites as required.
Basic DBS clearance (can be obtained whilst working)
