A well-established M&E Building Services Contractor is looking to recruit an Intermediate Mechanical Design Engineer to join their growing design team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with 2-5 years' experience looking to gain broader project exposure, develop technically, and progress into a senior or lead engineering position.

The Role

  • Support the delivery of mechanical building services design across a range of commercial projects, working closely with senior engineers and cross-functional teams.
  • Assist in coordinating mechanical design activities across multiple projects.
  • Track design progress and manage key deliverables.
  • HVAC design and calculations.
  • Support production of mechanical layouts, schematics, and technical documentation.
  • Carry out design reviews and quality checks.
  • Maintain accurate design records and documentation.
  • Attend design meetings and follow up on actions.
  • Ensure clear communication across project teams.

About You

  • Degree or HND in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent).
  • 2-5 years' experience in mechanical/building services design.
  • Understanding of HVAC, heating & cooling, and drainage systems.
  • Experience using AutoCAD, Revit, or similar design tools (desirable).
  • Strong organisational and communication skills.
