Your new company: You will be working for Southampton City Council.
Your new role: We are looking for a confident and self-motivated individual who has the ability to multi-task and can carry out small works in other trade disciplines, to undertake the role of Carpenter within Southampton City Council's Housing Operations team. Experience of working with UPVC installation and property maintenance would be an advantage. It is essential for you to have a practical understanding of the construction/property maintenance industry. You will be liaising with residents, peers and colleagues on a daily basis so communication and customer focus will be essential to the role. You will be carrying out a range of construction and property maintenance activities within Southampton City boundary. This position is based at Nursling Industrial Estate, Southampton SO16 0YS. You will be provided with a van, uniform and PPE.
What you'll need to succeed: You will be an experienced Carpenter with multi skills with formal training in carpentry or time served. You will have the ability to multi-task and carry out small works in other trade disciplines i.e. Painting and Decorating / Bricklaying / Plumbing / Plastering etc. Current full UK driving licence in order to drive vehicles throughout the City.
What you'll get in return: £23.70 umbrella per hour + Van.
