About the Role
Hays is proud to partner with HM Prisons to supply skilled maintenance and support operatives. We are currently recruiting Prison Security Escorts (also known as Contractor Escorts) to join the team at HMP The Mount. This is a unique opportunity to gain experience in a secure environment, with potential pathways to permanent roles.
Key Responsibilities
- Meeting and signing in contractors at the main gate
- Conducting tool checks before and after work is completed
- Escorting contractors to and from work areas and during breaks
- Supervising contractors during their tasks
- Ensuring strict adherence to prison security protocols
- Supporting other operational tasks as required
This is a non-supervisory operational support role.

Requirements
- Pass a full prison security clearance and enhanced DBS check (arranged by Hays and the MOJ)

- Show proof of National Insurance and a recent proof of address (dated within the last 3 months)
- Supply satisfactory references covering the last 3 years
