A long-established and highly successful building services contractor is seeking a Project Planner to join their growing team in Banbridge. With a strong reputation across the UK and Ireland, the business delivers complex MEP projects across sectors including healthcare, commercial, residential, education, industrial and data centres.
Due to continued growth and a healthy order book, they are looking to appoint a planner to support projects from tender stage through to completion. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced planner to join a market-leading contractor and play a key role in the successful delivery of major construction projects.
Reporting to the Head of Planning, you will be responsible for developing, managing and monitoring project programmes across a range of construction and building services projects. Key duties will include:
- Producing detailed project programmes using Asta PowerProject
- Developing construction, procurement, manufacturing, installation and commissioning schedules
- Reviewing drawings, specifications and project information to develop logical project sequences
- Preparing procurement and information release schedules
- Supporting tender submissions with planning, logistics and methodology information
- Monitoring project progress against programme milestones
- Identifying programme risks, delays and recovery opportunities
- Carrying out programme analysis and 'what if' scenario planning
- Supporting extension of time and delay analysis processes where required
- Maintaining programme revisions and change control records
- Conducting regular site visits to review progress and engage with project teams
- Working closely with operational, commercial and design teams throughout project delivery
- Reviewing and challenging contractor and subcontractor programmes where necessary
What you'll need to succeed:
- Minimum 3 years' experience in a planning role within construction, engineering or MEP projects
- Experience producing and managing project programmes throughout the project lifecycle
- Strong understanding of construction methodologies and project sequencing
- Proficiency in Asta PowerProject
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- Strong organisational and analytical abilities
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced project environment
Desirable:
- Experience within MEP/building services projects
- Knowledge of commissioning and installation programmes
- Experience of delay analysis and extension of time claims
- Experience using Primavera P6 or Microsoft Project
