We are seeking a highly motivated and detail oriented Assistant Accountant to join this finance team based in Sheffield. This role is initially on a temporary basis with a view to becoming permanent. The role will offer career progression for someone to step up and manage a small finance team based in Sheffield. The successful candidate will work closely with the Finance Director to support day to day accounting operations. You will play a key role in maintaining accurate financial records, assisting with month end processes, and ensuring the smooth running of core finance activities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assisting with preparation of monthly management accounts
- Processing invoices, payments, and expense claims
- Maintaining accurate ledgers and supporting reconciliations
- Assisting with VAT returns and other statutory submissions
- Supporting budgeting and forecasting activities
- Liaising with internal teams and external stakeholders as required
- Providing general administrative and financial support to the wider team
