Your new company There is currently a high demand for KS2 Teaching Assistants in the Wigan area. Hays education are currently working with a partnership school to help them secure a teaching assistant to start in January, with the role continuing until Easter as a minimum. This is a supportive school that makes sure all children are included in lessons but also provides them with the correct support they need. They are now looking for an individual who can come in and join their supportive team network. Your new role When taking on the role of a Teaching Assistant, you will be responsible for helping pupils across KS2 in both group and 1:1 settings. In this role, you will be expected to help pupils to make sure they understand their work and stay focused. You may need to provide additional intervention sessions for reading, spelling or maths. It is important you work closely with the class teacher so you can provide the correct support for the children. Depending on the needs of the school, you may be asked to move around classes within KS2, so you will need to be flexible and approachable. What you’ll need to succeed In order to be successful in securing this position, you must have recent experience working with children, ideally in an educational setting. SEN experience would also be desirable in this role, but it is not essential as it will depend on the school you are placed in.
