Hays are delighted to be supporting a leading regulatory organisation in Sheffield with the recruitment of a number of Business Support Case Officers to join their team on 6-12 month fixed-term contracts. These opportunities have arisen due to increased workloads and offer the chance to work within a professional, purpose-driven organisation that plays an important role in maintaining high standards within its sector.

This is a hybrid position, with a combination of office and home working. Candidates must be based within a reasonable commuting distance of Sheffield and be available to start within a short timeframe.

The Role

As a Business Support Case Officer, you will manage a varied caseload, reviewing information received from stakeholders and supporting decision-making processes through thorough assessment, analysis and administration. You will play a key role in ensuring cases are progressed efficiently, records are maintained accurately, and stakeholders receive a professional and timely service throughout the process.

This is an ideal opportunity for candidates with experience in case management, investigations support, complaints handling, regulatory environments, legal administration, public sector operations or complex customer service roles.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and progress a portfolio of casework in line with service standards and deadlines.
  • Review, assess and summarise complex documentation and evidence.
  • Gather additional information from relevant parties to support case progression.
  • Monitor outstanding information requests and ensure timely follow-up.
  • Conduct risk assessments and escalate concerns where appropriate.
  • Prepare clear, evidence-based recommendations and reports.
  • Maintain accurate records using internal case management systems.
  • Communicate professionally with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders.
  • Respond to enquiries and provide guidance regarding processes and procedures.
  • Handle confidential and sensitive information in accordance with data protection requirements.
  • Support wider project work and departmental initiatives as required.
