An opportunity has arisen for a Finance Assistant to join their established team on a temporary basis. This role is expected to offer a 12-week duration.
Your new role As Finance Assistant, you will play a key role in supporting the day-to-day operation of a busy finance function. Working closely with colleagues across Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable and Management Accounting, you will help ensure the accurate and timely processing of financial transactions while maintaining high standards of financial control and compliance. A significant part of the role will involve purchase ledger administration, including matching invoices to purchase orders, coding and processing invoices, managing supplier payments, resolving invoice queries and assisting with payment runs. You will also support sales ledger activities, including raising invoices, processing income receipts, maintaining accurate records and assisting with customer account queries. In addition, you will provide broader support through journal preparation, reconciliations, audit assistance, financial reporting support and the maintenance of financial records and databases. This is a varied position offering exposure to multiple areas of finance and would suit an individual who enjoys working in a collaborative team environment while maintaining a high level of accuracy and attention to detail. This role is part-time (28 hours per week) and based in the office in Invergordon.
What you'll need to succeed To be successful in this role, you will have previous experience working within a finance environment and will possess strong purchase ledger and sales ledger knowledge. You will be comfortable processing high volumes of financial information accurately and within agreed deadlines. You will bring experience of accounts administration, invoice processing, payments and reconciliations, along with a sound understanding of financial procedures and controls. A basic bookkeeping qualification or similar financial training would be advantageous. Strong Microsoft Excel skills are essential, and you will be confident using financial systems and databases. You will have excellent organisational skills, the ability to manage competing priorities and a proactive approach to problem-solving. Strong communication skills are also important, as you will regularly liaise with colleagues, customers, suppliers and other stakeholders.
