You will be joining a highly respected, long-established professional services firm with a reputation for exceptional client care. Many clients have been with the firm for several generations, and the front-of-house experience is considered a vital part of the service they deliver. You will be the first face visitors see when entering the building, representing the firm with professionalism, warmth, and discretion. As the Front of House/Receptionist, you will ensure every visitor receives an outstanding welcome and a consistently high-quality service.
Your new role:
- Meeting and greeting visitors in a courteous, friendly, and professional manner.
- Maintaining tidy, attractive client areas; ensuring no delivery boxes are left out, flowers are fresh, plants watered, library organised, and cupboards closed.
- Providing refreshments for all meetings, ensuring correct numbers of cups/glasses, offering top-ups during longer meetings, and maintaining consistent presentation standards.
- Ensuring stationery in all rooms is fully stocked and neatly arranged.
- Supporting post delivery/collection, including notifying fee earners, recording tracking codes, and coordinating with General Office.
- Assisting with scanning and copying documents during client meetings and supporting assistants, trainees, and paralegals as required.
- Answering telephones using the correct professional tone, taking names, and directing calls appropriately - often speaking with longstanding, elderly, or vulnerable clients.
- Supporting kitchen duties, including filling/unloading dishwashers and keeping areas tidy.
- Assisting the residential team with AML/KYC checks and scanning documents for client files.
- Supporting business development events, including room setup, serving food/drinks, and clearing down (overtime provided for out-of-hours events).
- Booking parking for clients, staff, and suppliers.
What you’ll need to succeed:
- Impeccable personal presentation and professional appearance at all times.
- A formal, courteous, and respectful manner; friendly but not overly familiar.
- The ability to project efficiency and professionalism (no AirPods or personal mobile use in client areas).
- Absolute discretion - confidentiality is essential at all times.
- A proactive approach to staying busy, assisting fee earners, and keeping all areas in excellent order during quieter periods.
- Strong multitasking ability, especially on busy days.
- Confidence managing phones, visitors, refreshments, and administrative tasks simultaneously.
