You'll be part of a collaborative, supportive team within one of the UK's largest local authorities. This role offers exposure to a wide range of recruitment activity, the chance to influence resourcing strategy, and the potential for extension or temp-to-perm conversion.

Your new role In this role, you will advise on resourcing strategies to support the Resourcing Partner and play a key part in delivering all recruitment activity, including JNC campaigns across directorates. You will ensure that all job adverts meet BCC standards and comply with legislative requirements, while working closely with hiring managers to understand workforce needs and develop effective recruitment plans. You will manage the full recruitment life cycle, from job postings and screening through to shortlisting and interview coordination. As the lead for specific resourcing areas, you will define the most effective methodologies for success and drive resourcing programmes to ensure delivery against SLA and KPI targets. A core part of the role involves delivering onboarding activities across BCC to support timely and compliant recruitment, and working collaboratively across the Resourcing function to align activity with Workforce and Early Careers programmes. The position also requires completing significant administrative tasks, including pre-employment checks, compliance processes, and system updates. You will ensure GDPR compliance at all times, managing any data breaches in line with policy. Building strong relationships with stakeholders across the organisation is essential, as is the ability to prioritise your workload effectively and operate confidently in a high-volume, fast-paced environment.

Strong stakeholder management and communication skills are crucial, as you'll be working closely with hiring managers and colleagues across the organisation. You should be confident handling onboarding and compliance checks, with the ability to work across a range of IT systems and maintain high levels of accuracy. Previous experience within a local authority or public-sector setting is preferred, as this will help you navigate the structure, pace, and governance requirements of the role. What you'll get in return In return, you'll receive a competitive hourly rate of £20.86 including holiday pay, along with the opportunity to join Birmingham City Council on a long-term assignment running until September 2026, with the potential for extension or even a temp-to-perm conversion. You'll benefit from a hybrid working arrangement, offering a balance of office collaboration and home-based flexibility.
