Your new role As a Finance Officer, you will play a key role in supporting the day-to-day finance function, ensuring accurate financial records, supporting reporting activities and helping maintain strong financial controls across the business.This is a varied role offering exposure to transactional finance, reconciliations, reporting and stakeholder support, making it ideal for someone looking to further develop their finance career within a growing organisation.Your responsibilities will include: Processing and maintaining purchase and sales ledger transactions Completing bank, balance sheet and control account reconciliations Supporting month-end close activities, including journals, accruals and prepayments Monitoring customer accounts and assisting with credit control activities Processing supplier payments and resolving finance-related queries Supporting budgeting and forecasting processes Preparing financial reports and analysis for internal stakeholders Maintaining accurate finance records and supporting documentation Assisting with audit preparation and compliance requirements Supporting continuous improvement projects within the finance department What you'll need to succeed Previous experience in a finance, accounts or finance administration role Good understanding of accounting principles and financial controls Experience with reconciliations and finance reporting Strong Microsoft Excel skills Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills Good communication skills and ability to work with stakeholders across the business Ability to manage a varied workload and meet deadlines Desirable AAT qualified or studying towards AAT, ACCA or CIMA Experience supporting month-end processes Exposure to budgeting and forecasting Experience using ERP or finance systemsWhat you'll get in return Salary of £30,000 - £35,000 per annum Hybrid working arrangement Generous holiday allowance Pension scheme Ongoing training and development Exposure to a wide range of finance responsibilities Supportive and collaborative working environment Excellent long-term career progression opportunitiesWhat you need to do now If you're interested in this role, click "Apply Now" to submit your CV, or contact William Loring at Hays Accountancy & Finance for a confidential discussion.If this role isn't quite right for you, but you're considering a move, please get in touch to discuss other opportunities across South Wales.
