You will be joining a well-established global manufacturing business based in Swansea, operating within a fast-paced and highly technical production environment. Due to ongoing growth and development within the finance team, they are looking to appoint a Commercial Finance Assistant to support financial reporting, operational analysis and business performance activities across the site. Your new role

Reporting to the Financial Controller, you will play a key role in supporting the finance function whilst working closely with operational stakeholders across the business.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting budgeting and forecasting activities
  • Producing daily, weekly and monthly KPI reports
  • Assisting with inventory and stock accounting processes
  • Supporting cost analysis and margin reporting
  • Assisting with month-end activities including journals, accruals and prepayments
  • Supporting financial reporting and variance analysis
  • Working alongside operational teams to understand production performance and costs
  • Assisting with forecasting production volumes and capacity requirements
  • Supporting process improvement initiatives across finance and operations
  • Maintaining accurate financial records and assisting with compliance and controls

What you'll need to succeed

  • Degree qualified in Finance, Accounting or a related discipline
  • Previous finance experience through placement year, internship or commercial finance role is advantageous
  • Strong Excel skills and confidence working with financial data
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Good organisational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to build relationships across different departments
  • A positive attitude and willingness to learn
  • Currently studying towards, or interested in pursuing, ACCA or CIMA qualifications
