Your new company Hays Accountancy & Finance are supporting a large, established organisation with the recruitment of an Assistant Finance Officer / Trainee Accountant to join its growing finance team. This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious finance professional looking to develop their career within a complex and fast-paced environment. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting the delivery of financial reporting, reconciliations, budget monitoring and financial administration, while working closely with a range of internal and external stakeholders.
The Role
- Supporting the production of financial reports and management information.
- Assisting with account reconciliations and investigating discrepancies.
- Processing and maintaining accurate financial records and transactions.
- Providing financial and administrative support across the wider finance function.
- Assisting with budget monitoring and variance analysis.
- Producing and maintaining spreadsheets and financial data reports.
- Supporting month-end processes and financial control activities.
- Responding to finance-related queries from a range of stakeholders.
- Assisting with audit requirements and compliance activities.
- Contributing to process improvements and maintaining robust financial procedures.
About You
We are keen to speak with candidates who have:
- Previous experience working within a finance, accounts, bookkeeping or transactional finance environment.
- Good knowledge of reconciliations, financial systems and accounting processes.
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills and confidence working with financial data.
- Excellent numerical and analytical abilities.
- Strong communication and organisational skills.
- The ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines.
- A proactive and collaborative approach to work.
- AAT Level 3 qualification (or working towards) would be advantageous but is not essential.
