A confidential not-for-profit organisation is seeking a hands-on Interim Accountant to provide broad financial support across the finance function during a period of change and increased workload. This is a varied role suited to a pragmatic and adaptable finance professional who is comfortable rolling their sleeves up and supporting wherever required. You will be involved in everything from management accounts and reconciliations through to reporting, compliance, overseas payments, and fund accounting. The position is fully remote and offers significant flexibility for the right candidate.

Key Responsibilities

  • Preparation of monthly management accounts and financial reports
  • Balance sheet reconciliations and investigation of variances
  • Supporting budgeting and forecasting activities
  • Management of restricted and designated funds
  • Grant funding accounting and reporting
  • Processing and reviewing overseas and foreign currency transactions
  • Supporting AML and payment compliance checks
  • Assisting with treasury and cash flow management
  • Supporting audit requirements and year-end activities
  • Providing ad hoc financial support across the wider finance team
  • Taking ownership of any tasks required to ensure smooth departmental operations

About You

We are looking for a qualified or qualified by experience accountant who is proactive, adaptable and happy to undertake a broad range of responsibilities.

  • Management accounting and financial reporting experience
  • Strong reconciliation and analytical skills
  • Experience working in a busy finance environment
  • Ability to work independently in a remote setting

  • Grant funding and restricted funds accounting
  • Not-for-profit or charitable sector experience
  • Foreign currency (FX) transactions
  • AML compliance processes
  • International payment experience
  • Sage Intacct experience
  • Experience with other Sage-based accounting systems
