Your New RoleAs Senior Payroll Administrator, you will take ownership of end-to-end payroll processing across both weekly and monthly payrolls, ensuring employees are paid accurately and on time while maintaining compliance with all relevant legislation and HMRC requirements. Key duties will include:
Processing weekly and monthly payrolls, including new starters, leavers, SSP, SMP, SPP, and pension auto-enrolment.
Managing payroll and time & attendance queries within strict payroll deadlines.
Creating and processing BACS payment files and ensuring all approvals are completed within required timescales.
Submitting payroll returns, pension contributions, and statutory payments accurately and on time.
Completing year-end payroll processes, including P11D reporting.
Maintaining up-to-date payroll records and ensuring compliance with current payroll legislation.
Acting as the primary point of contact for employee payroll queries.
Performing payroll reconciliations and supporting the finance team with payroll reporting and analysis.
Collaborating closely with HR regarding employee-related payroll matters.
Supporting continuous improvement initiatives and payroll system enhancements.
Processing PAYE, National Insurance, pension-related activities, and associated payroll administration.
What You'll Need to SucceedTo be considered for this position, you will have:
A minimum of two years' experience within a high-volume, computerised payroll environment.
Experience processing both weekly and monthly payrolls from start to finish.
Strong knowledge of UK payroll legislation, statutory payments, and HMRC requirements.
Excellent IT skills, including payroll systems and Microsoft Excel.
Previous experience with Sage payroll software would be advantageous.
