Job Title: Financial Accountant Salary: Up to 55K Location: Hybrid Working (Port Glasgow) Reporting to: Financial Controller Department: Finance The Opportunity An exciting opportunity has arisen for a qualified Financial Accountant to join a well-established international organisation operating within the travel and tourism sector. With a heritage spanning more than a century and operations across multiple global markets, the business is recognised for delivering exceptional customer experiences and maintaining high standards of service, innovation, and sustainability.This role will play a key part in ensuring statutory compliance, maintaining financial governance, and supporting the financial reporting requirements of UK legal entities. Reporting directly to the Financial Controller, you will work closely with Group Finance, auditors, tax specialists, and key stakeholders across the business. Key Responsibilities Statutory Accounting & Compliance Support the preparation and delivery of timely and accurate statutory financial statements under UK GAAP and IFRS. Assist in ensuring all entities remain audit-ready and compliant with regulatory requirements. Prepare annual audit packs and coordinate effectively with external auditors and internal stakeholders. Work closely with General Ledger teams to ensure accurate financial reporting and timely reconciliations. Liaise with tax specialists to support the preparation and submission of required tax returns. Maintain robust financial controls, governance procedures, and audit documentation. Financial Reporting & Month-End Review monthly financial reporting packs across multiple entities. Prepare and post consolidation and adjustment journals where required. Ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial information reported to Group Finance. Additional Responsibilities Participate in finance projects and process improvement initiatives. Provide support for wider finance activities as required. Act as a secondary point of contact for tax, treasury, and regulatory matters. About YouYou will be a technically strong and detail-oriented finance professional who enjoys working collaboratively within a fast-paced, international environment.Essential Experience & Qualifications Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent). 2-3 years' experience within statutory accounting, financial reporting, or financial control. Strong understanding of IFRS, local GAAP, and statutory audit processes. Experience working with external auditors and regulatory requirements. Advanced Excel skills with strong reporting capabilities. Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills. Desirable Experience using Oracle, Power BI, or similar ERP/reporting systems. Exposure to multinational or multi-entity environments.
