An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced finance professional to join a growing, fast-paced manufacturing business during a period of transition. This is a broad and varied role within a small team, offering the opportunity to take ownership of the day-to-day finance function while supporting month-end reporting, cash flow management and business operations. Part-time and full-time applications are both welcome.
Your new role:
- Working closely with senior leadership, you will be responsible for maintaining the smooth running of the finance function while providing accurate and timely financial information to support decision-making across the business.
- Key responsibilities will include:
- Producing monthly management accounts, including profit and loss and balance sheet reporting
- Managing month-end close processes
- Posting journals, accruals, prepayments and depreciation
- Performing balance sheet reconciliations and maintaining robust financial controls
- Managing stock reconciliations and supporting stock margin analysis
- Preparing and maintaining weekly cash flow forecasts
- Processing and overseeing supplier payments
- Supporting purchase and sales ledger activities
- Producing customer statements and carrying out credit control activities via email and telephone
- Working closely with operational teams to ensure accurate financial and stock information
- Supporting continued use of ERP and accounting systems to maintain data quality and reporting accuracy
- Providing ad hoc financial support and analysis for senior stakeholders
This is a genuinely hands-on role and would suit someone who enjoys rolling up their sleeves and getting involved in all aspects of finance within a smaller business environment.
What we're looking for:
- Experience across Purchase Ledger and Sales Ledger
- Month-end accounting experience
- Confident preparing journals, accruals, prepayments and reconciliations
- Experience producing management accounts and cash flow reporting
- Knowledge of Xero would be highly advantageous
- Strong Excel skills and confidence working with finance systems and ERP platforms (Unleashed experience would be advantageous)
- Previous experience within manufacturing, FMCG, stock-led or product-based environments
- Ability to work independently and manage priorities with minimal supervision
- A proactive, self-starting approach with excellent attention to detail
- Strong communication skills and confidence building relationships across the business
- AAT Qualified or CIMA Part qual desirable (QBE also considered)
