Your new company

This people-orientated organisation is seeking an experienced Payroll Manager to join a large SSC environment. This role is ideal for a confident payroll professional who can lead a high-performing team and quickly embed themselves into a fast-paced environment ensuring accurate, compliant payroll processing. Hybrid working 2 days in the office 3 days at home.

Your new role

Within your new role, you will be expected to provide a high level of service to internal employees, whilst also maintaining the day-to-day:

  • Manage end to end payroll cycles
  • Process weekly, fortnightly, lunar and monthly payrolls, ensuring accuracy and adherence to client deadlines
  • Handle statutory payments calculations/adjustments including SSP, SMP, SPP, etc.
  • Complex payments
  • High volume payslip count, circa 10,000 plus
  • Manage a team of 5-8
  • Calculate and process adjustments, holiday pay, bonuses, overtime, and salary changes
  • Ensure correct treatment of starters, leavers, P45/P46 starter checklists, and RTI submissions

What you’ll need to succeed

  • Proven experience in a UK payroll management position
  • Experience with managing and coaching a team and support with their learning and development
  • Strong knowledge of UK payroll legislation and HMRC requirements
  • Experience using payroll systems (e.g. Sage, ADP, Workday, or similar)
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to work to tight deadlines
