A well-established organisation based in Manchester is seeking an immediately available Senior Payroll Specialist to support the payroll function during a period of growth and transformation. Operating within a complex payroll environment, the business is currently enhancing payroll processes and systems while continuing to deliver a high-quality service through its managed payroll provider.

As Senior Payroll Specialist, you will provide hands-on payroll expertise and support the day-to-day delivery of payroll operations. Working within a fast-paced environment, you will be responsible for validating payroll data, managing complex payroll queries, ensuring legislative compliance and acting as a key liaison between the business and the outsourced payroll provider.

You will also support ongoing payroll projects and process improvements, helping the team navigate system and procedural changes while maintaining payroll accuracy and service levels. This role requires someone who can quickly integrate into the team and work autonomously from day one.

You will be an experienced payroll professional with strong end-to-end payroll knowledge and a proven ability to manage complex payrolls in a demanding environment. Experience working with multiple pension schemes, benefits providers, variable pay elements and multiple legal entities would be highly advantageous.

The successful candidate will be immediately available or on a short notice period, capable of working independently and confident in supporting both operational payroll delivery and payroll improvement initiatives. Previous experience of SD Worx would be particularly beneficial.
