What You'll Be Doing

  • Oversee day-to-day treasury operations, including investment and lending activity, cash flow forecasting, accounting and management reporting.
  • Ensure treasury activity is compliant with relevant standards, including CIPFA and IFRS, while demonstrating effective use of resources.
  • Lead the development of the annual Treasury Management Strategy and contribute to wider capital strategy planning.
  • Design, implement and maintain systems and processes that support robust treasury management and strong financial governance.
  • Build effective relationships with internal teams and external stakeholders, including banks, rating agencies and government partners.
  • Drive continuous improvement across treasury activity, supporting clear audit outcomes, resilient processes and informed decision-making.

What We're Looking For

  • Qualifications: A degree or equivalent experience in treasury management, alongside CCAB or CIMA qualification and current membership.
  • Experience: A strong track record in treasury management, ideally gained within a public sector or similarly complex environment.
  • Technical Knowledge: Experience of managing funding arrangements, budgets, forecasting, investments and financial reporting.
  • Leadership: The ability to lead, influence and build trusted relationships across a diverse stakeholder group.
  • Approach: Commercial awareness, sound judgement, attention to detail and a proactive mindset focused on improvement and delivery.
