Hays are recruiting a Subject Access Request Processing Officer on behalf of a local council. This role supports the Information Governance Team in delivering a high-quality service to the Council, its Directorates, and Service Areas, specifically focusing on the disclosure of Social Care Subject Access Requests (SARs).
You will assist the Head of Information Governance in developing, implementing, and operating disclosure processes to ensure timely delivery of information and efficient resource use.
Key Responsibilities- Act as the initial point of contact for all Data Subject Access Requests (DSARs) received by Children's Social Care Services and Adult Social Care Services.
- Apply appropriate redactions and exemptions in line with the Data Protection Act 2018.
- Liaise with customers in writing and face-to-face, ensuring complex DSARs are managed within legal timeframes.
- Maintain and manage the SAR log register accurately.
- Strong understanding of Data Protection legislation and SAR processes.
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to handle sensitive information.
- Effective communication skills for engaging with internal teams and service users.
- Experience in managing deadlines and working within compliance frameworks.
