You will be joining a well-established and expanding construction business with a strong reputation for delivering high-quality projects across the UK. The company values ambition, progression, and the development of its people. Due to continued growth, they are offering a 12-month Fixed Term Contract for an AR/Credit Controller who is keen to build their career in a supportive finance environment.
As the AR/Credit Controller, you will take ownership of the debtor ledger and play a key role in ensuring smooth payment processes. This position is ideal for someone looking to grow professionally, develop their skillset, and gain broader exposure within a fast-paced construction business.
Key responsibilities include:
- Managing and maintaining the sales ledger
- Chasing outstanding debt and reducing aged balances
- Issuing invoices and credit notes, often through manual Sage processing
- Reconciling customer accounts and resolving queries
- Producing aged debtor reports for senior management
- Supporting month-end processes
- Building relationships with clients and internal teams
- Assisting the Finance Manager with additional finance duties
What you'll need to succeed:
- Previous experience in Accounts Receivable or Credit Control
- Confident, hands-on experience using Sage, especially manual input
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills
- A proactive, ambitious mindset, ideal for someone wanting to progress in their career
- Ability to work independently and manage competing priorities
- Construction or CIS experience is beneficial but not essential.
