They are now seeking an experienced Accounts Assistant to join their Head Office in Burnley. Your new role
As the Accounts Assistant, you will play a key role in the day-to-day running of the finance function. You'll be working within a busy yet supportive team, with the chance to take on additional responsibilities over time. Key duties include:
- Daily use of Sage Line 50 as the primary finance system
- Processing and managing supplier invoices
- Accurate coding and allocation of costs
- Supplier statement reconciliations and resolving discrepancies
- Preparing and processing supplier payments
- Assisting with month-end procedures and financial reporting
- Working across multiple companies within the group
- Ad-hoc finance duties as required
- Occasional payroll support (weekly or monthly) to provide holiday cover
What you'll need to succeed
To be considered for this Accounts Assistant position, you will need:
- Minimum 2 years' experience in a similar finance role
- Experience using Sage Line 50 (desirable)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel
- Working towards AAT (desirable, not essential)
- Excellent numerical and analytical ability
- Strong organisation skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- High attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong time-management skills with the ability to meet strict deadlines
