Hays Senior Finance are working with a large, national business who have their head office in Warrington. This multi-site wholesale operation has grown significantly over the last decade and has ambitious plans for the next few years. Due to continued growth, the finance team is expanding and they require a qualified senior Management Accountant.

As Management Accountant, you will have responsibility for the maintenance of the company accounts, including the preparation and review of internal monthly financial reports (P&L and Balance Sheet) and quarterly/annual/ad-hoc external reports/submissions. The primary focus of this role will be within the operations side of the accounting.

  • Review of monthly balance sheet reconciliations, maintaining professional scepticism of the reconciliation and the report itself to identify potential errors/issues.
  • Reviewing/controlling GL accounting and raising journals where required, including reviewing/approving journals made by members of the team.
  • Review of management accounts to ensure overheads have been accounted for correctly, prior to publishing.
  • Support with the annual external audit, working closely with our external auditors to clear any queries/review points.
  • Assist with any new acquisitions (hiving up, review of existing management accounts, preparation of management accounts in company format, review of controls).
  • Ad-hoc projects to improve the accuracy and efficiency of financial reporting.
  • Continuous improvement, documentation and review of all financial processes.
  • Supporting Profit Centre Managers, Regional Directors and the Board with any queries they may have with financial reports.

This role is office based, 8am to 5pm each day. Career progression is available for those that want it.
