Your new company is an established and forward‑thinking accountancy practice seeking a Private Client Tax Assistant to join its growing team. Your new role involves supporting the Senior Tax Adviser within the Private Client Group, assisting with a broad range of personal tax work, including:
- Tax return preparation and review of client information
- P11D preparation and submission
- Managing coding notices and client correspondence
- Ensuring statutory deadlines are met
- Maintaining accurate client records and database updates
- Supporting ad‑hoc advisory work under supervision
- Building strong client relationships through clear communication and timely responses
What you'll be doing day‑to‑day includes:
- Preparing and submitting personal tax returns and P11Ds
- Monitoring workloads, budgets and deadlines
- Maintaining client files and internal systems
- Helping clients provide information promptly
- Identifying additional work requirements and escalating appropriately
- Contributing to the wider development of the firm
What you'll need to succeed:
- Strong academic background (A‑levels or degree) or relevant tax experience (2 seasons)
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Confident use of Microsoft Office
- Experience with TaxFiler/Iris Elements (advantageous but not essential)
- High attention to detail, strong problem‑solving skills and a methodical approach
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and adapt to changing priorities
