The Opportunity: Our client, a well-established and growing manufacturing business based in Stockport, is seeking an experienced Accounts Assistant to join its finance team on a temporary to permanent basis. This is an excellent opportunity for an organised and proactive finance professional looking to secure a long-term position within a successful SME. Reporting into the finance function, you will play a key role in supporting the day-to-day financial operations of the business, ensuring accuracy across transactional finance processes while contributing to month-end activities and ongoing process improvements.
The successful candidate will be available to start immediately and will thrive within a fast-paced, hands-on environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Sales Ledger
- Raising and processing customer invoices
- Issuing credit notes
- Investigating and resolving invoice queries
- Processing online payment transactions
- Supporting credit control activities where required
- Purchase Ledger
- Processing and coding supplier invoices
- Managing supplier queries and maintaining positive supplier relationships
- Reconciling supplier statements
- Assisting with weekly and monthly payment runs
- Banking and Reconciliations
- Supporting daily banking activities
- Completing bank reconciliations
- Maintaining accurate and up-to-date financial records
- Expenses and Credit Cards
- Managing the employee expense process, ensuring appropriate approvals are obtained
- Processing and reconciling company credit card transactions
- Maintaining supporting documentation and records
- Month-End and Reporting
- Assisting with month-end close procedures
- Completing ledger and balance sheet reconciliations
- Preparing prepayment journals
- Supporting financial controls and reporting processes
