A well-established, privately owned and market-leading organisation is recruiting a commercially focused Financial Controller to join their team. Reporting to the Managing Director, you will be responsible for all aspects of the accounting and financial reporting, overseeing a finance team of 3. You will be responsible for generating monthly management accounts, cash-flow reporting and the preparation of statutory accounts. The role requires strong commercial acumen, the appetite to improve systems/processes and the flexibility to pitch in with ad hoc tasks as and when needed.
Key Duties:
- Preparing monthly and annual reports for senior management.
- Managing cash flow, VAT returns, payroll, and statutory payments.
- Leading and developing the finance team, to oversee Sales, Purchase & Nominal Ledgers.
- Ensuring compliance with financial legislation.
- Liaising with external auditors and managing audits.
- Overseeing credit insurance, invoice discounting, and risk management.
What We're Looking For:
- You will hold a professional qualification, with proven experience as a Finance Manager, Financial Controller, or similar senior finance role.
- Strong knowledge of financial compliance and experience in managing audits and external relationships.
- Expertise in cash flow management, VAT, payroll, and statutory returns.
- Excellent leadership and communication skills.
- Ability to provide strategic financial advice to directors.
