An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Operational Accountant to join a dynamic finance team based in Liverpool City Centre. This role is ideal for a detail‑oriented finance professional who thrives in a fast‑paced environment and is passionate about process improvement, stakeholder collaboration and financial control.
The Operational Accountant will play a key role in the day‑to‑day operational accounting function while supporting continuous improvement across finance processes and systems.
Key Responsibilities:- Manage and maintain strong relationships with banking partners
- Perform daily bank reconciliations, ensuring system balances are accurate
- Oversee daily payment processes, ensuring compliance with agreed SLAs
- Assist in preparing monthly reporting packs, including KPIs
- Lead credit control activities, maintaining appropriate levels of aged debt
- Support interest sharing processes and reporting requirements
- Review and enhance operational accounting processes to improve efficiency
- Contribute to continuous improvement of financial systems and procedures
- Support finance‑related projects, ensuring cost control and compliance
- Proven experience in a strong financial control environment
- Experience working with multiple banking platforms
- High attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills (advanced level preferred)
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines
