Manufacturing Financial Controller

Job Description Your new company /n Hays Senior Finance are partnering with a growing and highly innovative organisation to appoint a qualified Financial Controller with strong manufacturing and stock accounting experience. This is a fantastic opportunity for an ambitious finance professional to play a key role in supporting production operations, driving financial controls, and ensuring accurate inventory and cost accounting across a complex manufacturing environment. /n Working closely with the Finance Director and operational teams both in the UK and internationally, you will take ownership of production-related financial processes, providing valuable insight into inventory management, costing, profitability, and operational performance. Your new role /n /n - Own and manage the production planning process, ensuring accurate financial accounting treatment across manufacturing activities. /n - Take responsibility for standard costing models and maintain cost sheets across product lines. /n - Lead month-end stock reconciliations between ERP and warehouse management systems, investigating and resolving discrepancies. /n - Monitor work-in-progress (WIP) valuations and analyse raw material consumption against expected usage. /n - Ensure accurate Cost of Goods Sold (COGS) reporting and provide detailed margin and variance analysis. /n - Prepare and manage complex profit-share and royalty-style calculations. /n - Review and approve stock-related supplier invoices and manufacturing cost allocations. /n - Validate third-party warehousing and subcontractor costs, ensuring accurate project and cost centre allocation. /n - Partner closely with operational and finance teams to strengthen financial controls and improve reporting processes. /n /n What you'll need to succeed /n /n - Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent). /n - Proven experience within a manufacturing, production, inventory, or stock-intensive environment. /n - Strong understanding of standard costing, inventory accounting, WIP and COGS. /n - Advanced Excel skills with the ability to build complex financial models and analyses. /n - Commercially minded with excellent attention to detail. /n - Able to work independently while building strong relationships across finance and operational teams. /n - Confident communicator with a proactive and hands-on approach. /n /n What you'll get in return /n /n - Competitive salary and comprehensive benefits package. /n - Opportunity to work closely with senior leadership and contribute to the growth of a dynamic business. /n - A varied and commercially focused role offering significant exposure to manufacturing operations and financial decision-making. /n /n What you need to do now /n If you're interested in this role, click 'apply now' to forward an up-to-date copy of your CV, or call us now. /n If this job isn't quite right for you, but you are looking for a new position, please contact us for a confidential discussion about your career. /n Hays Specialist Recruitment Limited acts as an employment agency for permanent recruitment and employment business for the supply of temporary workers.
