Hays are working with a leading international organisation to recruit an Assistant Accountant on a fixed-term 11-month basis (This has the potential to turn permanent for the right candidate). As Assistant Accountant, you will be responsible for analysing financial information and preparing reports to support business decision-making. You will play a key role in maintaining accurate financial records, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, and supporting month-end and reporting activities.

  • Preparing, examining and analysing accounting records, financial statements and reports.
  • Supporting month-end accounting activities and financial reporting processes.
  • Ensuring compliance with financial controls, policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Assisting with tax-related activities, including the preparation of returns and supporting documentation.
  • Analysing financial data and communicating findings to internal stakeholders.

A degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.

At least 2 years' experience within a finance or accounting position.

Good understanding of accounting principles, financial reporting, and expense processing.

Experience using accounting systems and Microsoft Excel, alongside wider Microsoft Office applications.

Competitive salary equivalent to £44,000 per annum.

Hybrid working arrangement, with a mix of office and home working (2 days home, 3 days office).

Full-time position working 37 hours per week.

Fixed-term contract running through to the end of June 2027.
