A large, international infrastructure business with a significant capital programme and a strong reputation for delivering complex, high-profile projects. Due to continued growth and increasing regulatory obligations, the organisation is expanding its controls and compliance function and is seeking a highly skilled SOX Senior Manager to lead its group-wide SOX programme.

Reporting to senior leadership, you will take ownership of the organisation's SOX framework, ensuring the effective design, implementation, and ongoing management of internal controls over financial reporting.

  • Lead the end-to-end SOX compliance programme, including scoping, documentation, testing and reporting.
  • Conduct risk assessments and ensure financial processes adhere to SOX requirements and internal control best practice.
  • Partner with Finance, Technology, Operations and Risk teams to strengthen control maturity across the business.
  • Manage relationships with internal stakeholders and external auditors.
  • Drive continuous improvement, identifying opportunities to automate, streamline and enhance controls.
  • Provide training and guidance to the wider business, raising awareness and embedding a strong controls culture.
  • Present regular updates, deficiencies, and remediation progress to senior stakeholders and the Audit Committee.

A recognised accounting qualification (ACA or equivalent) is required, along with significant experience managing SOX programmes within a large, multi-entity or complex organisation. Strong technical knowledge of internal controls, financial processes and risk management is essential. Previous experience within infrastructure, engineering, utilities, construction or a similar environment is highly advantageous. Excellent stakeholder management skills with the ability to challenge constructively, influence decision-making and operate at senior levels are necessary. A proactive, solutions-driven mindset with a commitment to driving continuous improvement is also important.
