Your new company: This is one of the most exciting Financial Controller briefs I’ve worked on in recent years! You’ll be joining a dynamic and fast‑growing FMCG organisation undergoing significant investment and transformation. The business is PE backed and you will be working with an impressive CFO to build a high‑impact finance function that truly supports commercial decision‑making. This exciting role offers a wide range of development opportunities for an ambitious finance leader who is building towards an FD position.
Your new role: As Financial Controller, you will take full ownership of the finance function and lead the day‑to‑day delivery of accurate, timely and insightful financial outputs. You will be responsible for monthly close, management accounts, KPIs, board reporting and maintaining strong balance sheet integrity, including inventory. You’ll lead budgeting and forecasting cycles, oversee cashflow and liquidity planning, and drive automation, systems improvements and process optimisation. You will also partner with operational and commercial teams to support decision‑making and performance, while managing external relationships with auditors, tax advisors, banks and payment providers. Leadership of a small finance team will be a key part of the role.

A hands‑on approach, excellent organisational skills and the ability to deliver under pressure are essential. You’ll have experience with ERP accounting systems and ideally BI tools, alongside a proven ability to strengthen controls, improve processes and introduce automation. You’ll also be a confident communicator, capable of influencing at all levels and simplifying complexity.
