Your new role
This is far more than a traditional finance position; as a senior member of the finance team, you'll act as a trusted adviser to senior leaders, helping drive commercial thinking, financial performance and strategic decision-making across a wide-ranging portfolio. You'll lead on financial planning, budgeting, forecasting and reporting whilst managing a team of finance professionals and developing strong relationships with stakeholders across the organisation. You'll have the opportunity to challenge, influence and support key initiatives to deliver long-term objectives and sustainable growth.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Leading budgeting, forecasting and financial planning activities
- Providing insight and financial analysis to support strategic decisions
- Managing and developing a team of finance professionals
- Delivering high quality management and statutory financial reporting
- Supporting large scale projects, transformation initiatives and service improvements
- Working closely with senior stakeholders to drive financial performance
- Identifying opportunities to improve processes, controls and efficiency
What you'll need to succeed
- You'll be a qualified accountant or an experienced finance professional with a strong track record in financial management ideally within a public services/not for profit environment
- Strong budgeting, forecasting and financial reporting expertise
- Excellent stakeholder management and business partnering skills
- Experience leading, mentoring or developing teams
- The ability to communicate financial information clearly to non-finance audiences
- A proactive and solutions-focused approach
