A growing organisation within the construction sector is looking to appoint a proactive Assistant Accountant to join their close-knit finance team. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys variety, takes pride in accuracy, and is confident managing both accounting duties and elements of credit control.
Working on the outskirts of Leeds, you'll play a key role in supporting the Finance Manager across day-to-day accounting tasks, month-end processes and maintaining strong financial controls. This is a fully office-based role, ideal for someone who thrives in a collaborative environment and values being part of a small, supportive team.
Your new role
You will take ownership of a broad range of responsibilities, including:
- Assisting with month-end accounts preparation
- Posting journals, accruals and prepayments
- Balance sheet reconciliations
- Supporting the production of management accounts
- Managing elements of credit control, including chasing overdue payments and maintaining strong customer relationships
- Processing invoices and supporting transactional finance where required
- Assisting with cashflow monitoring and reporting
- Supporting ad-hoc finance tasks and contributing to process improvements
What you'll need to succeed
- Experience in an Assistant Accountant or similar finance role
- Exposure to credit control as part of your responsibilities
- Strong attention to detail and a proactive approach
