Job Description Interim Financial AccountantLocation: Edinburgh (Hybrid Working) Job Type: Interim 6 month contractAn excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Financial Accountant to join a well-established organisation operating within a highly regulated and service-focused environment. This role will play a key part in supporting the finance function, ensuring the delivery of accurate financial information, robust controls, and insightful reporting to support decision-making across the business. Lead and support month-end processes, including accruals, prepayments and financial close activities. Prepare management accounts, financial reports and analysis to support operational and strategic decision-making. Maintain and reconcile key financial records, including bank, control account and other balance sheet reconciliations. Support the preparation of annual accounts and act as a key contact during external and internal audits. Assist with budgeting and financial monitoring activities across the organisation. Manage and develop a small finance team, providing day-to-day support, coaching and guidance. Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, helping to enhance financial systems, reporting processes and controls. Build strong relationships with stakeholders across the organisation, providing financial advice and support where required. About YouTo be successful in this role, you will be a qualified accountant (or qualified by experience) with strong financial accounting and reporting expertise. You will have experience preparing statutory accounts, management accounts and audit schedules, alongside a proven ability to analyse complex financial information and communicate findings clearly to a range of stakeholders. Strong month-end and year-end accounting experience. Advanced Excel and financial systems knowledge. Hybrid working model.
