Your new company is a well-established and highly regarded independent accountancy practice seeking an experienced Cloud Bookkeeper to join its growing team. The firm has built a strong reputation for providing proactive accounting and business advisory services to a diverse portfolio of owner-managed businesses across Yorkshire. An opportunity has arisen for a motivated bookkeeping professional who enjoys working closely with clients and utilising modern cloud-based accounting technology.
Your new role involves taking ownership of a varied portfolio of small business clients, ensuring accurate and timely processing of financial information whilst building strong client relationships. You will support clients with their day-to-day bookkeeping needs and assist with wider accounts preparation work across the practice. Responsibilities will include:
- Managing a portfolio of cloud accounting clients
- Processing financial records using cloud-based accounting software
- Preparing and submitting VAT returns
- Liaising directly with clients via telephone and email
- Maintaining accurate bookkeeping records and reconciliations
- Assisting with accounts preparation up to trial balance
- Supporting senior accountants with management accounts and ad-hoc assignments
- Ensuring client deadlines are met consistently
What you'll need to succeed:
- Previous bookkeeping experience gained within an accountancy practice environment
- Strong working knowledge of cloud accounting software including Xero, Sage and QuickBooks
- Experience preparing bookkeeping records for sole traders, partnerships and limited companies
- Excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple deadlines
- Strong communication and client relationship skills
- High levels of accuracy and attention to detail
- A proactive and positive approach to teamwork
