A leading, forward‑thinking professional services firm is seeking a Senior Manager to join its expanding Indirect Tax advisory team. Formed through the collaboration of multiple established UK and Ireland practices, the firm delivers trusted, relationship‑led business advice to SMEs while fostering a supportive, people‑first culture. As Senior Indirect Tax Manager, you will take ownership of a portfolio of valued clients, building long‑standing relationships and delivering proactive, commercially focused VAT advice. You will provide expert guidance across complex indirect tax matters, support clients through HMRC processes, and contribute to the team's growth through mentoring and business development.
Key responsibilities include:
- Building strong, trusted client relationships and delivering high‑quality VAT advisory services.
- Leading comprehensive VAT reviews and advising on:
- Partial exemption and non‑business apportionment methods
- VAT return reviews and liability analysis
- Property transactions and capital projects
What you'll need to succeed:
- Strong technical VAT experience gained in professional services, consultancy, or in‑house advisory roles.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, capable of simplifying complex legislation.
- A proven ability to build and maintain strong client relationships.
- Commercial awareness and a proactive, client‑focused approach.
- CTA/ATT qualification, HMRC experience, or equivalent (advantageous).
- Experience dealing with HMRC on technical matters including partial exemption method applications.
- Exposure to VAT within specialist sectors such as property, construction, travel, not‑for‑profit, education, or healthcare.
- A collaborative mindset, professionalism, resilience, and a strong sense of accountability.
