Accounting Supervisor / Management Accountant in Bury

A growing and highly successful accountancy and business advisory practice based in Greater Manchester is seeking a commercially minded Management Accountant to join its expanding team with a diverse portfolio of SME clients across a range of sectors, the business provides outsourced finance support, management accounting and strategic financial guidance. Due to continued organic growth and sustained client demand, an exciting opportunity has arisen for an ambitious finance professional who wants to build strong client relationships and play a key role in helping businesses achieve their objectives. As Management Accountant, you will manage a dedicated portfolio of clients, becoming a trusted advisor and an integral part of their finance function closely with business owners and senior stakeholders, you will provide meaningful financial insight, challenge performance where appropriate and support strategic decision-making. For some clients, you will act as their sole finance function, taking ownership of their financial management and serving as their primary point of contact for all finance-related matters. Producing monthly management accounts and financial reports. Analysing financial performance and providing actionable commercial insights. Acting as a trusted finance business partner to business owners and management teams. Reviewing bookkeeping processes and maintaining accurate financial records. Identifying opportunities to improve financial processes and controls. Working across cloud-based accounting systems including Xero and Sage. This role offers a mix of office, home and client-site working, providing variety and exposure to a broad range of businesses and industries. To be successful in this role, you will be an experienced Management Accountant who enjoys building relationships and partnering with clients to help them succeed will ideally have: ACCA, CIMA, ACA or AAT qualification, or be qualified by experience. Previous experience within practice, outsourced finance, or a client-facing finance environment. Strong management accounting and financial reporting experience. Excellent communication skills with the confidence to engage with non-finance stakeholders. A commercial mindset and the ability to translate financial information into practical business advice. Experience using Xero, Sage or similar cloud-based accounting systems. Competitive salary and benefits package.
