Your new company: You will be joining a well‐established and highly regarded accountancy practice based in the heart of Chester. The firm has a long history of stability and employee loyalty, with many long‐standing team members. The tax department is experiencing strong growth, winning significant new work, and is led by an exceptional Tax Manager who has built a reputation for quality and client care. This is an exciting time to join the practice as they continue to expand their tax offering and invest in the development of their people.

Your new role: Working closely with the Tax Manager, you will play a key role in delivering high‐quality personal tax compliance work, including the preparation and submission of personal tax returns, corporation tax returns and P11Ds. Approximately 70% of the role will be compliance-focused, with increasing involvement in advisory matters as the department continues to grow—making this an excellent opportunity for someone who is ambitious and keen to progress. You will have the autonomy to work directly with clients, support business development activity, and contribute to shaping the continued success of the tax function.

What you'll need to succeed: To be successful, you will have at least 2-3 years' experience within tax in an accountancy practice environment and be comfortable managing your own portfolio of compliance work. You will ideally be ATT or CTA qualified or studying towards this. You'll be confident preparing personal tax returns and P11Ds, with a willingness to develop corporation tax experience. Strong communication skills, a proactive mindset, and the ability to build trusted relationships with clients are essential. Experience using IRIS and strong general IT capabilities will also be highly advantageous.
