Your new company Hays are working with a leading international organisation to recruit an Assistant Accountant on a fixed-term 11-month basis (This has the potential to turn p-erm for the right candidate). Your new role As Assistant Accountant, you will be responsible for analysing financial information and preparing reports to support business decision-making. You will play a key role in maintaining accurate financial records, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, and supporting month-end and reporting activities. Key responsibilities will include: Preparing, examining and analysing accounting records, financial statements and reports. Developing, maintaining and analysing budgets, preparing periodic reports and identifying variances. Supporting month-end accounting activities and financial reporting processes. Ensuring compliance with financial controls, policies and regulatory requirements. Assisting with tax-related activities, including the preparation of returns and supporting documentation. Analysing financial data and communicating findings to internal stakeholders What you'll need to succeed To be successful in this role, you will have: A degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline. At least 2 years' experience within a finance or accounting position. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with excellent attention to detail. The ability to manage workloads effectively and work independently. Good understanding of accounting principles, financial reporting, and expense processing. Strong communication skills and the ability to build relationships across the business. Experience using accounting systems and Microsoft Excel, alongside wider Microsoft Office applications. What you'll get in return Competitive salary equivalent to £44,000 per annum. Hybrid working arrangement, with a mix of office and home working (2 days home, 3 days office) Full-time position working 37 hours per week.
