Your new company

Hays Accountancy & Finance are partnering with an established & growing international business based in Stonehouse, Gloucestershire within an interesting sector to recruit a hands-on & dynamic Assistant Accountant/Finance Co-ordinator to join their close-knit accounting team. Reporting directly to the Financial Director, you will support in maintaining financial records, assisting with reporting/analysis along with day-to-day accounting processes. The position is best suited to an AAT/CIMA/ACCA studier. However, finance professionals qualified by experience will be considered. A varied accounting role where you can really add value supporting the Financial Director within an interesting sector. Training in elements of the role will be given, but you will need a general understanding of double-entry bookkeeping.

Your new role

Your key duties will involve supporting the Financial Director with preparing balance sheet & monthly profitability reports, reconciliations of balance sheet accounts, maintaining accurate financial records, along with supporting process improvement projects. You will process monthly payrolls with related reconciliations, assist with accounts payable & receivable processes, support the year-end audit co-ordination. You will support the Financial Director in leading the finance team, liaising with internal/external stakeholders & identifying/investigating any financial errors to improve accuracy within the department.

What you'll need to succeed

To be considered for this hands-on & varied Assistant Accountant/Finance Co-ordinator role, you will need some experience in a similar position, ideally AAT qualified or studying for AAT/ACCA/CIMA, knowledge of double-entry bookkeeping, strong numeracy skills with good attention to detail. You will have experience with financial systems, key MS Excel skills, with strong organisation & time management. You will be able to manage multiple priorities to meet deadlines, willing to learn & adaptable to business needs. Experience with ERP systems, including SAP, would be advantageous but not essential.

What you'll get in return

This permanent Assistant Accountant role offers a salary of £30,000 – £35,000 per annum, dependable on experience based in Stonehouse, Gloucestershire.
