Working within Content Labs, Haymarket Business Media's specialist commercial content division, we partner with leading B2B organisations to create high-impact content, campaigns and experiences that engage professional audiences and deliver commercial value. By combining editorial excellence with strategic insight, we develop innovative content solutions that help our clients achieve their objectives while contributing to Haymarket's continued growth.

The Commercial Content Editor will lead the creation and delivery of high-quality commercial content and integrated marketing campaigns across a range of B2B sectors, ensuring all content delivers value for clients, engages target audiences and supports Haymarket's commercial objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Create, commission and edit high-quality commercial content across a range of formats, including articles, thought leadership features, video scripts, podcasts and digital event agendas ensuring all output meets client objectives and Haymarket's editorial standards.
  • Partner with the internal commercial teams to brainstorm innovative content concepts, transforming ideas and proposals into compelling, high-conversion pitches to win client campaigns.
  • Build strong relationships with clients, acting as a trusted editorial partner to understand their objectives and deliver engaging content that balances commercial objectives with audience needs.
  • Research industry trends, audience behaviour and market developments to inform content strategies and ensure campaigns remain relevant, insightful and effective.
  • Source, commission and manage freelance writers, designers, producers and other creative suppliers, ensuring projects are delivered to agreed quality standards, timescales and budgets.
  • Identify and secure suitable speakers, contributors and industry experts to support commercial content, webinars, events and thought leadership programmes.
  • Work collaboratively with project managers, sales, marketing and editorial teams to ensure the effective planning, delivery and evaluation of marcomms campaigns.
  • Work collaboratively across the Sales, Marketing and Editorial teams to ensure seamless campaign delivery and monitor campaign performance, leveraging audience insight and client feedback to identify opportunities for future content development.

Key Relationships:

Works closely with the department heads, project managers, sales, marketing, core Editorial teams and external creative freelancers to build effective working relationships, share knowledge, provide support and contribute to the successful delivery of business objectives.

Skills / Experience / Knowledge / Minimum Criteria:

  • Knowledge of B2B media, publishing, content marketing or commercial content environments.
  • Strong understanding of marketing communications (marcomms).
  • Understanding of integrated marketing communications, content strategy and client relationship management.
  • Knowledge of digital publishing, SEO, AI discoverability and content performance across multiple channels.
  • Understanding of audience insight, campaign performance metrics and content management systems (CMS).
  • Awareness of multimedia content formats, including digital, video, audio and live events.

  • Excellent writing, editing and storytelling skills, with the ability to adapt content for different audiences, channels and formats.

  • Experience commissioning and managing freelance writers, designers or other creative contributors.
  • Experience collaborating with editorial, commercial, marketing and project teams to deliver integrated content campaigns.
