Working within Automotive Studio at Haymarket, we’re home to some of the biggest and most loved consumer motoring brands in the UK, including What Car?, Autocar, and Classic & Sports Car. Our trusted, remarkable content reaches millions of people a month across digital, print, video, podcasts, apps and live events. We are also home to Automotive Studio, a specialist creative agency crafting award-winning content, digital media, and marketing campaigns for the leading automotive brands. This role sits within Automotive Studio and focuses on managing the delivery of social media content and campaigns for MG Motor UK.
The Project Manager will coordinate the end-to-end delivery of social media content and campaigns for MG Motor UK, ensuring work is delivered on time, within budget and in line with agreed briefs and brand standards. Acting as the central point of contact for internal and external stakeholders, the role will manage content calendars, project timelines, client feedback, resources and campaign deliverables. Working closely with creative, social media and production teams, the Project Manager will support the smooth delivery of always-on content, campaign activity and brand partnerships across MG Motor UK’s social media channels.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate the end-to-end delivery of social media campaigns and ongoing content across relevant platforms.
- Develop and maintain clear project plans, timelines and deliverables, ensuring activity remains on schedule and aligned with the agreed client brief.
- Ensure content and campaign assets meet MG Motor UK’s brand guidelines, quality standards and agreed objectives.
- Identify and escalate potential risks, delays or changes to scope, working with relevant stakeholders to agree appropriate solutions.
- Manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously, adapting plans where briefs, timelines or business requirements change.
- Act as a primary day-to-day point of contact for MG Motor UK’s social media and production stakeholders.
- Lead regular client status meetings and provide clear updates on project progress, deliverables, risks and next steps.
- Coordinate and respond to client feedback, ensuring changes are communicated clearly to the relevant internal teams.
- Provide appropriate client updates before, during and after content shoots and campaign activity.
- Work with the Social Media Content Creator to develop and maintain the master content calendar.
- Coordinate with copywriters, videographers, graphic designers and other creative colleagues to maintain an effective pipeline of high-quality, social-first content.
- Ensure briefs, feedback, approvals and final assets are shared with the relevant stakeholders at the appropriate stage of each project.
- Support the coordination of content shoots and production activity where required.
- Coordinate social media deliverables for MG Motor UK’s brand and sponsorship partnerships.
- Work with internal teams, clients and external partners to ensure contractual deliverables and co-branded content are completed on time and to the required standard.
- Maintain appropriate oversight and quality control across partnership activity.
- Coordinate internal resources across allocated projects, ensuring workloads and delivery requirements are clearly understood.
- Monitor project expenditure and support the accurate tracking of budgets.
- Work with the Social Media Content Creator and other relevant colleagues to ensure campaigns are set up and delivered correctly.
- Monitor campaign and content performance, using available data to support reporting and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date project documentation, trackers and records.
Key Relationships
The Project Manager will report to and work closely with the Social Media and Production Manager, as well as colleagues across Automotive Studio’s social media, creative and production teams. The role will act as a central point of contact for MG Motor UK’s social media and production stakeholders, building effective client relationships and ensuring communication, feedback and approvals are managed efficiently. The Project Manager will also collaborate with copywriters, videographers, graphic designers, content creators, external partners and other contributors to support the successful delivery of social media campaigns, ongoing content and partnership activity.
Knowledge, Skills & Experience
- Knowledge of digital and social media agency environments and the delivery of client accounts.
- Understanding of major social media platforms, native tools, content formats and emerging trends.
- Understanding of social-first content, including short-form video for platforms such as TikTok and Instagram.
- Knowledge of project management processes and collaborative project management tools.
- Understanding of client relationship management and effective account delivery.
- Awareness of the UK automotive market, including dealership marketing and developments in electric and hybrid vehicles.
- Awareness of relevant advertising, brand and industry compliance requirements.
- Understanding of budget tracking, resource planning and campaign performance reporting.

- A full clean driving licence valid in the UK is required due to the on-location and production requirements of the role.
