Working at Haymarket, the Group Marketing Manager (Events) works across Haymarket Media Communications and Haymarket Professional brands, supporting the delivery of marketing strategies that grow audiences, registrations and delegate revenue across a diverse portfolio of awards, conferences and industry events. The role is responsible for leading the day-to-day delivery of event marketing activity while developing and implementing audience growth strategies that support commercial objectives. The role collaborates closely with events, commercial, editorial and brand teams to deliver effective campaigns that engage professional audiences and maximise the success of Haymarket’s live experiences.

Reporting to the Marketing Director, the Group Marketing Manager will play a key role in shaping and delivering the marketing strategy across Haymarket’s events portfolio. Acting as a strategic partner to the Marketing Director, the role will support the achievement of audience growth, registration and revenue targets across a diverse range of awards, conferences and industry events. The role will lead and develop a high-performing events marketing team, providing clear direction, coaching and support to enable the team to deliver effective, insight-led campaigns.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the day-to-day delivery of the events marketing function, ensuring campaigns are effectively planned, executed and optimised to achieve audience, registration and revenue objectives.
  • Manage, coach and develop a high-performing team providing clear direction, support and opportunities for growth.
  • Build a collaborative and accountable team culture focused on innovation, continuous improvement and delivering against objectives.
  • Establish effective processes, workflows and ways of working to ensure efficiency in delivering high-quality campaigns.
  • Take ownership of a dedicated portfolio of high-profile events, developing and delivering integrated marketing strategies that grow audiences, registrations and commercial performance.
  • Work closely with the Marketing Director, Head of Live Events and Portfolio Directors to develop strategies that support delegate revenue, new business growth and long-term portfolio success.
  • Partner with Delegate Sales teams to align marketing activity with sales objectives, ensuring campaigns generate high-quality leads and support conversion.
  • Identify opportunities to improve campaign performance, increase audience engagement and develop new approaches to grow event participation.
  • Lead multi-channel audience acquisition strategies across email, paid media, automation, partnerships and other channels to drive delegate growth, awards entries and audience engagement.
  • Use audience insights, campaign analytics and forecasting data to evaluate performance, optimise activity and support commercial decision-making.
  • Monitor key marketing KPIs and provide clear reporting, recommendations and insights to senior stakeholders.
  • Maintain an understanding of market trends, audience behaviours and competitor activity to inform future marketing strategies.
  • Represent the marketing function at key flagship events and across the wider portfolio, building strong relationships with internal teams, partners and stakeholders.
  • Review event performance and audience experience to identify opportunities for improvement and future growth.
  • Collaborate across editorial, commercial, production and events teams to ensure marketing activity supports successful event delivery and strengthens Haymarket’s brands.

Knowledge, Skills & Experience:

  • Strong understanding of B2B events, professional audiences and the role of marketing in driving audience growth, engagement and commercial performance.
  • Knowledge of event marketing strategies, delegate acquisition, awards entries and audience development across conferences, forums and live experiences.
  • Understanding of CRM systems, marketing automation and digital channels used to manage customer journeys and improve conversion.
  • Knowledge of commercial event models, including delegate revenue, audience growth opportunities and portfolio development.
  • Awareness of industry trends, audience behaviours and competitor activity to inform strategy and identify growth opportunities.
  • Strong leadership and people management skills, with the ability to coach, develop and inspire a high-performing marketing team.
  • Ability to develop and deliver integrated marketing strategies that support audience growth, registrations and revenue objectives.
  • Strong commercial and analytical skills, with the ability to interpret performance data, forecast outcomes and make informed decisions.
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills, with the confidence to influence and collaborate with senior leaders across Marketing, Events, Commercial, Sales and Editorial.

  • Proven experience in a senior marketing role within B2B events, media or a professional audience environment.
  • Experience leading marketing teams, including managing experienced marketers and supporting their professional growth.
  • Demonstrable experience delivering audience acquisition strategies that increase registrations, engagement and revenue.
  • Experience partnering with sales and commercial teams to align marketing activity with business growth objectives.
  • Experience managing multiple campaigns, brands or events, balancing strategic planning with hands-on delivery.
  • Experience using data, CRM systems and marketing technology to optimise campaign performance and improve conversion.
